ABOUT US
Brave Heart Home is a registered Child and Youth Care Centre. We serve as a temporary place of safety for children who are orphaned, abandoned, abused, or whose parents cannot provide care.
Our mission is to provide a safe, nurturing environment where children’s emotional, physical, and spiritual needs are met. We believe every child deserves dignity, security, and hope for the future.

OUR ORIGINS
The vision for Brave Heart Home began in the 1990s under the leadership of Almaret du Toit through Kidz@Peace Ministries.
In 2005, planning for a home in the Hex River Valley began, and in 2011, Brave Heart Home opened its doors.
Since then, we have cared for hundreds of children, working toward reunification with families or finding stable, long-term solutions.

We operate from a spacious suburban home with a large garden, designed to feel safe and homely.

WHY IT MATTERS
Our community faces severe social and economic challenges. Many families live in informal settlements, struggling with poverty, unemployment, and the impact of HIV/AIDS. Too many children are orphaned, neglected, or in need of urgent protection
Brave Heart Home bridges the gap by offering immediate safety and comprehensive care, while working with government and welfare partners to plan long-term solutions.
